Carl Longmate

A Slice Of Life by Carl Longmate Carl is a prolific Artist, mainly painting from life. His work is positive and optimistic, with a sense of humour. He likes to paint People, Places, and events. Carl says " I like to paint what is in front of me, the notion of copying a photograph I think is a joke, it inhibits creativity." Carl attends life drawing class every week, saying "Its the only way to truly develop your skills, drawing a tree is easy, it will always look like a tree. Drawing or painting a person is a different matter." Life drawings and paintings will be on view at St James Terrace.
