Hayfield, High Peak / Drawing, Painting, Printmaking and Illustration

Susan McCall is a painter, defined in the main by walking the moors and uplands of the Peak District. Her work is distinctly rich in colour and texture and celebrates the changing light and atmosphere of the landscape. Drawings are made in sketchbook and on iPad whilst walking in the hills. These form the basis for charcoal drawings, iPad prints and oil paintings. see her work at www.susanmccallartist.com Katy McCall Medway studied Fine Art Painting at Chelsea College of Art where she created colourful abstract paintings that captured the buzz of the city. In 2008 she returned to the Peak District where she grew up. Her work now celebrates the drama and beauty of the local landscape where she produces lively colourful oil paintings, drawings and mono-prints. Katy has specialist focus in Early Years Learning and works for a large national institution as well as High Peak Arts devising and delivering a variety of community projects. Jim Medway has been exhibiting his anthropomorphic drawings across the UK for some time and has recently been illustrating children's books. His practice includes drawing, watercolours and ink as well as prntmaking. He draws strips for The Phoenix weekly kids comic, as well as teaching comic skills with groups of all ages, most recently at a university in Denmark. Living alongside the Peak Forest Canal has inspired him to try his hand at traditional lettering and signwriting techniques some of which can be seen on local shops and signs. find out more at www.jimmedway.com
